Infrared inspection

Infrared sensors provide valuable information invisible to an observer through the visible spectrum. Our infrared patrol teams are trained to identify anomalies that indicate equipment is heating beyond normal operating temperatures. This proactive approach allows equipment to be replaced long before failure, thereby improving reliability and reducing labor hours spent replacing equipment outside standard working hours. Infrared inspections are not only beneficial for high-value substation equipment and transmission lines but can also offer a cost-effective method for patrolling
distribution circuits.

LiDAR

UTS Group's Engineering staff includes FAA Certified sUAS Pilots capable of collecting centimeter-accurate topographical and structural data using LiDAR sensing technology. Our fleet of unmanned systems enables cost-effective collection and processing of point clouds without the lead time or safety hazards of traditional fixed-wing and helicopter surveying methods. Following data collection, our engineering team performs post-processing to enhance the accuracy and usability of point clouds for analysis in software such as PLS-CADD.

Emergency & Storm Assessment

The UTS Group management team acknowledges the critical importance of having qualified personnel readily available for prompt and accurate assessment, especially in the aftermath of storms and other natural disasters.

At UTS Group, we employ two-man assessment teams. Our assessors bring with them a wealth of knowledge in the utility industry, with many boasting 15 years of expertise in distribution, transmission, and substation. This extensive industry experience ensures that our assessment teams are well-equipped to handle a wide range of complex scenarios efficiently and effectively.
